I still have the Kenmore Progressive vacuum my parents got for me when I first got my apartment. I loved theirs and wanted one just like it. It’s been over 10 years I have had it. My husband doesn’t like it because it smells like something burning haha. He wants me to get a new one, but I am hoping to use it for as long as I can to save money and waste, but to see what new vacuums will be more effective to get in the future as technology improves.

I don’t mind using a broom, but lately it feels like I am not getting every grain of sand or dust that comes in. I would like to use the vacuum more, but with toys and kids in the way, it’s not possible to use daily. So broom it is. My husband got me a shorter broom with the scoop bucket, which I didn’t like because I have to bend over, but it quickly gets the job done.

I used to have the Spin Mop and Bucket, but I think because I threw the triangle mop head in the washer and dryer, I broke it. I tried to keep using it till it gave in. Instead of buying a new kind of mop (because I am not a fan of any right now), I have been using a bucket and a rag with dish soap to do the job on my hands and knees. It feels effective and cleans! It’s just hard on your knees is all. So we will see what the future brings for mops too.

Side Note: seeing video channels of South Korean women using new technologies, I am leaning towards the vac/mop robot! Maybe for my new house?
