My first music player was a typical long black boombox. Played cassettes in it over, over, and over again! It is no more. Into middle school, my siblings and I received these smaller, cool-looking boomboxes! I have used this thing from 2001 till 2021! Around 20 years! It recently stopped working so I sadly had to get rid of it. Now we depend on my husband’s boombox haha! We probably will need to upgrade soon!
I collected a lot of CDs over the years. But I didn’t fill up my Fellowes CD rack until I added my husbands CDs to it! Haha! But I did finally go through all MY CDs before moving into this trailer home. I kept my favorites and got rid of all that only had a few songs on each that I listened to. I wrote down all those favorite songs so I will never forget them.
Now, I use airbuds and listen to my Youtube list of current favorite songs. I use the boombox sometimes to put CDs in for my kids to listen to. Even in the car I would use CDs or Youtube on data.
Note: I do miss the classic nostalgia of listening to the entire CD in one setting. Now we jump from one song to the next on Youtube depending on how we feel. But I guess that is almost like a mixed, burned CD of sorts.
Today, like with DVDs, CDs are slimming down which is good for decluttering. So we will see how technology changes as the years come and go!
