“The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea” was my favorite movie when I was 12 years old. Being hard-of-hearing, I felt alone in middle school. I could relate to Ariel’s daughter a lot and I imagined she was with me often. One thing I wished for was her doll. Before I even thought of looking for her doll, the production was done and gone forever. The rare chance of finding her doll was already too expensive and not worth it. So I drew this instead. I even MADE her doll myself!
I loved how it turned out! The problem was the structure of the body. It was small and I put rice in it. Wanting to keep her head erect, I put a toothpick in the neck, but after I sewed it, I was thinking about that toothpick forever! So I eventually threw it away. Maybe one day I can make it again. I was pretty proud of myself when I did the hair and eyes.
