Hi there! My name is Kristy!

I grew up in a small town in Maine. My dad built our house up in the mountains of the valley. Our house is in the middle of a large yard, surrounded by trees giving us lots of privacy and space.

I am hard-of-hearing and wear hearing-aids. But I look at it as a blessing, because it kept me in my own little world and out of trouble. The challenges were mostly missing out on something important or making friends. And closed-captioning is a godsend!

I did not want to go to college, because I was perfectly happy staying home! But it was actually a great experience, and I met my future husband and more friends there. When I began my full-time job as an accountant back here in Maine, I began exploring my passions and interests more.

I grew up drawing my favorite cartoons, writing in diaries since 2006, and always tidying and re-arranging my room. After college, I missed being at home surrounded by nature, and then felt I wanted to help the environment.

Once I learned that my job wasn’t paying enough for me to save, I turned to minimalism and alternative ways of living. The other thing that was on my mind was, I always wanted to be a stay-at-home mom like my mother did for me, but was nervous because my husband wasn’t able to finish college and it’s been hard for him to find a good paying job here in Maine. Once he got into USPS and made more than me, I was ready to start a family. So we did! We finally moved out of an apt as rent was on the rise and into a trailer home in a trailer park in 2022. Now having two kids, our next step is to find our dream house. With my husband still trying to find a way to make more money so we can get our house, I decided to try my hand at blogging. I am also working on the first of two comic/graphic novel books!

So here I am! I would like to share what I have learned through my interest in minimalism, saving money, and home ideas over the years. I will be posting my drawings as well! I hope you can find any of these categories useful and even entertaining as I recite memories. Enjoy!
