GIFTS FOR OTHERS
This is a list I began keeping, to track everyone I buy for in a given year: birthdays, weddings, showers, graduations, holidays, Christmas, and now Easter.
I just list it in order, from January – December, all who I need to buy for.
Then I make a separate list for:
Christmas – parents, in-laws, grandparents, siblings, exchanges, parties, nieces/nephews, friends, and children.
Easter – I reuse the basket, fake grass, plastic basket wrap, ribbon, and plastic eggs. Listing what you get can keep track of what you know can fit in the basket and/or sit outside of it.
It makes my life easier when I can list these down in a notebook and take them out when I need to review them.
GIFTS FOR OURSELVES
The next list covers everything I and my family needs/wants:
You, Spouse, Son, Daughter – books, clothes, toys, movies, etc.
Kitchen, Bathroom, Bedrooms, Living Area, Office, Outside, Children, Other…
It’s nice to keep track of and note what you want, to give others an idea for when they buy for you. OR so you remember what you need to buy for yourself.
Because my family is big, we began using Giftsters.com to put links to what we want on our lists, so family members can see and order what they want without waiting for a list! It works very well. My sister and I even set up our in-laws to it, so they can see the same things that are on the list for their grandchildren.
CLOTHES
I set up a clothing list as a separate page because there is a lot under it if you are trying to upgrade it and get what you need. I am now going by the capsule wardrobe list I posted about. (Under each, I look at the appropriateness of the tops, bottoms, layers, and shoes involved for that lifestyle.)
Reminders of your keywords and colors at the top of the page: Natural Style, Casual…browns, greens, whites (for example)
Undergarments – Whatever is needed
Home – Comfortable clothing?
Career – Dress clothes or whatever the job calls for
Public – Whatever makes you comfortable to be seen on errands or out
Parties – Something dressy but casual, depending on the event
Formals – Obviously this would be on a needed basis
Other – New swimsuits each year…new accessories wanted/needed
